Caroline Marcus is a producer, programmer and change maker in the cultural sector. She has a proven track record in strategic management with over 20 years experience as an independent museum consultant, qualified primary school teacher and former chair of governors. She manages a diverse portfolio of museum and gallery learning, access and engagement projects. Recent roles include Senior Teaching Fellow: MA Museums and Galleries in Education (UCL Institute of Education); Director: Takeover Day & Special Projects (Kids in Museums), Consultant: HLF Resilient Heritage Programme (training and consultancy – Kids in Museums); and Change Creation Consultant, People Make it Work. Previously, Caroline was Head of Learning at the Jewish Museum, London and an expert in Holocaust education, teaching at the Imperial War Museum, London, organisations across the UK and abroad.

Former roles at the National Gallery include Curator: Take One Picture, Access Officer, Outreach Officer, Mentor: Initial Teacher Education Programme, Manager: Special Projects, lecturer and workshop leader.

Caroline is a Trustee of the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu, Sandford Award Judge and a former Judge for The Big Draw’s Drawing Inspiration Awards and a Fellow of the RSA.

As a graduate of the Clore Cultural Leadership Course Caroline continues to explore the nature of good leadership, personal development and key areas of expert knowledge essential to effective cultural leadership. She currently assesses Clore Short Course applications.
